TECOM Rolls Out New Strategies for WiMAX Base Stations and Remote Radio Head Modules Showcasing Brilliant Results at the 2008 WiMAX Expo, Taipei

After devoting many years to developing technology and products related to WiMAX base stations, TECOM accumulated solid technological capabilities and is now sought after by many WiMAX base station design vendors to manufacture Baseband Board and Remote Radio Head modules. TECOM also provides installation and testing services, wholly showing its leading position in WiMAX base station design and manufacturing technology in Taiwan.

With over 20 years of experience in the communications industry, TECOM is the leading Taiwanese supplier of wireless base stations. Its excellent capacity to develop critical WiMAX technology and professional industry experience have enabled TECOM to become the sole WiMAX base station development flagship supplier for the Ministry of Economic Affair’s “WiMAX Speed-Up Plan” in 2006. TECOM was responsible for the development of Taiwan’s autonomous, critical WiMAX base station and Remote Radio Head module technologies. Development collaborations with global suppliers also aided TECOM to build strong technological foundations.

As global WiMAX base stations suppliers started to develop their own macro & micro base stations with more complete features, TECOM faced tougher competition. It then decided to shift its focus to the development of critical Radio Remote Head Module components and technology instead. Despite the high entrance barriers, TECOM successfully developed high-performance Remote Radio Head modules through technology collaborations and will start shipping its modules to well-known customers around the world in June. TECOM will continue to seek ODM and OEM contracts with other vendors to generate astounding results.

At this exhibition, TECOM will exhibit its leading WiMAX technological capabilities and results by installing a base station at the “END TO END SOLUTIONS Exhibition” and “M-Taiwan Application Exhibition”. It will demonstrate live wireless mobile broadband value-added services to visitors including personal broadband services, video streaming, web surfing, online music appreciation, VoIP telephony etc. This fully showcases TECOM’s R&D capabilities and results in WiMAX.
